This year has been full of surprises for me. New stories have revealed themselves, begging to be told. New characters have led me down unplanned paths full of delight and adventure. And off the page, there’ve been a few surprises as well. Hubby and I bought a townhouse. And I’ll be teaching a magazine writing class in the fall.
So 2015 isn’t shaping up exactly the way I envisioned it. But I’m still happy with the direction it’s heading. So, in the spirit of writing adventures, I’m unveiling my Round Three goals. Here they are:
- Finish a first draft of new WIP, tentatively titled “The Hedgewitch’s Charm.”
- Finish a second draft of “A Prince in Patience Point.”
- Read two or three books on the craft or business of writing.
- Bonus goal: Possibly start a second draft of short story “Midwinter Bride” or a fourth draft of novella “Good Old-Fashioned Magic.”
What about you? In what ways has 2015 surprised you? Have you found any new stories, embarked on any new journeys? And if you’re a fellow ROW80 participant, what are your goals for this round?
