This week’s word count is a whopping 958 words. Sadly short of my target of 3,000, but it’s better than nothing. Slightly disappointing, but hopefully next week is better.
I had to take a writing hiatus late last year (I know, boo!), so I’m still getting back into the groove. Normally, I aim for about 7,000 per week, but I’m also blogging now—and still finding my new routine for 2012. Since one of my goals for this year is not to burn out, I don’t see myself shooting for 7K/week anytime soon.
I blogged Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, so I met my goal of posting three times per week.
Today, I’m off to clean my apartment, which desperately needs it. In addition to the normal vacuuming and dusting, I’m considering doing a brief space-cleansing ritual to officially ring in the New Year. Before I go, here’s some inspiration for your week. The pic is from a place I used to live: a lovely little farm near the river, in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Enjoy!
What about you? Did you meet your goals? Surpass them? Or are you still working your way up?
“There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth: not going all the way, and not starting.” —Buddha
I didn’t meet my word count this week either. But then, I didn’t post as often as you 🙂 I think we need time to get into a groove. Good luck!
I loved the quote!
Thanks, Fabio! Good luck meeting your goals. It’s the first week of the new year, so maybe we can cut ourselves some slack. 🙂
Hey Janelle, you didn’t do so bad. I say go with the cleansing ritual, it will also help you get focused on the new challenges coming up. Oh yeah, that truly is an inspiring picture. I’d love to walk a pack of dogs along that road. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Thanks, Prudence. And yes, it’s a wonderful road to walk along, with dogs or in solitude–a good place to contemplate writing, life, and the mysteries of the universe. 🙂
good work Janelle, especially on knowing goals have to be revised to accommodate new things (like blogs). i’m struggling with the time management process as well. that’s one of the reasons i didn’t do ROW80. didn’t know where i’d fit it in with working full time and writing and and and…
good luck
Louise, since Kristen’s workshop, I’ve been trying to fit blogging into my writing routine as well. It’s part of the journey. This is my first time doing ROW80, so I’m starting slow. Last year I had two jobs and writing and blogging and and and… 😉 I can’t wait to see how the year progresses for Team WANA1011!
Love that quote!! I have started and I am still moving. Happy travels! 😉
Yay! How cool is it that, thanks to social media, we get to share the stories of our journeys with one another? Good luck, Coleen!
I met my ROW80 goals, but I set the bar low. Nothing wrong with that, especially when you’re still working on developing new habits. Good luck this week!
Very true! Glad you met your goals. There’s nothing wrong with starting small and working your way up! Thanks, Jennette. 🙂
